ED01 VUI3P PAPER BICYCLE PROGRAMME

Engineering Development Programme

Program Overview

Value Up Innovation, Productive, Performance, and Program (VUI3P) able to build up the organisation’s human capital competency, inculcate creativity in technical aspects, enable to stimulate product development process, encourage the culture of design-competitiveness and product-innovation and inspire sense of leadership and teamwork as it is designed based on manufacturing experience. Each team will be provided with paper (cardboard & paper tubes/cores) and glue. They will have to create a paper bicycle based on their creativity and knowledge. As a restriction for structural design, each team has to use software which is obtainable at computer laboratory for 3D CAD designing (such as CATIA software) and CAE structural analysis and to come out with 2D drawing. Presentations will be held in several stages throughout the program to evaluate the quality and rationale of the achievements. This leads to an improvement of the student’s presentation and self-confidence. All teams will involve in a competition to test the paper bicycle’s function in order to assess the speed and resistance of the bicycles. The competition will be held at open space such as hall or stadium and it will be shown to all staff’s and top management.
